The Most Important Thing I've Ever Designed!

Way back in October, I was trying to find a complete family tree of the characters in Once Upon a Time.  You may wonder why anyone would be interested, but each season of the show has basically added several new members to the main family to the point where any new relationship is dangerous, because there's a good chance they're already related.  It is complicated, and hilarious, and makes me giggle when I'm not busy rolling my eyes.

Anyway, I could not for the life of me locate one that was both complete and aesthetically pleasing. (Uhhh, it's Baelfire, not "Bae."  You haven't earned the right to his informal nickname!)  So I took it upon myself to make one.

Since I struggle to complete anything I start, especially when it has essentially no purpose, I have just finished that graphic today.

Unfortunately, I have discovered that since I last looked into this, someone else has also created a complete graphic and his is a thing of beauty.

Look at all those little vector characters!  Blown away.  Plus his covers all the characters, regardless of whether they're related to the main family, which I did not feel capable of attempting.  So anyway, if you've watched the show, you're welcome!  If you haven't, you  may now laugh at us for how ridiculous our show is.  :P

What shows do you follow?  What things do you have to admit are ridiculous, despite still loving the show?

  1. Okay I might start watching just so this makes sense to me. Which also is kind of meta—the thing used to make sense of the main thing makes me want to see the main thing to make sense of the thing explaining it. Woah.

  2. Ok. So I didn't read this at all because I have a question first.... will reading this give away things from the current/most recent season? Because I'm a Master Slacker and haven't even watched it yet. However, I can't wait to see it because the relationships in this show are INSANE!

  3. I've only watched the first season (or maybe the first two?!) but hope to watch more soon!! My hubby won't watch it with me, and my TV hours are limited so we usually try to watch things together...but soon!! I will definitely be referencing this when the time comes!!

  4. I watched the first season or two but I lost interest, unfortunately. But what a really cool idea. It's especially useful for shows that has such a big ensemble and connections. My absolute favorite show ended last year - Justified. One show that I have watched since the first episode and still do is Supernatural. People look at me strange since the CW is targeted more towards millenials, which I am not, but I was in my 20's when it started - it's just been on forever! LOL!

    1. I think my favorite thing about making the chart is not necessarily it's usefulness, but seeing how convoluted the relationships are. You can forget after a couple seasons all the crazy relationships from the first one, but when you chart it down and see them all together, it's ridiculous!

  5. Chris and I started watching Once Upon a Time last summer and while I liked it, he wasn't able to keep up with who was who and we ended up stopping a few seasons in which made me sad because i want to know whats going on!!!!

We watch Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Grimm though so I have my fair share of weird shows with weird things you have to keep up with. Like sometimes I am like ohhhh because so and so is a werewolf vampire hybrid that totally makes sense now. Or in Grimm I am like oh yeah when that person woges this happens. Haha.

  6. I like yours better because I can actually see who everyone is, even though I haven't watched the show in a few years lol. I need the names- I can't see all the "vector" characters clearly! The characters in True Blood were pretty ridiculous; now it's the characters in Game of Thrones, though I'm pretty sure I have everyone down.

Talk to me! I'm friendly. I won't bite.
